President's Message - March 2012
It is with a great feeling of pride to write this message to inform you about positive activities and accomplishments at Florida A&M University and in our FAMU DC Chapter. On Saturday, February 18, 2012 the DC Chapter Recruiting Team represented our Chapter at the Alfred Street Baptist Church Recruiting Fair for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The event was held at TC Williams High School and attracted hundreds of potential college bound students interested in attending one of our nations HBCUs. Our recruiting team organized by Ms. Cipriana Thompson and Mr. Hassan Mims and other exceptional Rattler volunteers performed an outstanding service informing potential students about the rewards and benefits in deciding to attend FAMU.
President's Message - February 2012
Dear DC Chapter Rattlers:
It seems like yesterday that we welcomed the Chinese year of the Dragon and already it is February. The coming months are filled with excitement as we complete an agenda of events that promises to be fun and fulfilling. We have planned recruiting visits to school fairs to recruit students for FAMU; holding our spring dance to raise money for student scholarships; attending the FAMU National Alumni Association Convention in Charlotte NC; participating in our DC Chapter golf tournament; attending our annual picnic; hosting our annual student sendoff for students going to FAMU; attending basketball and football games in our area to cheer for our Rattlers; and ending with our Christmas party in December.
