2015 Freshman Sendoff

 IMG 3283

On August 8, 2015 we had our annual freshman sendoff. We had five incoming freshmen attend the freshman sendoff as well as a number current students and attend this event along with their parents. We had a tremendous number of alumni from the area come as well to see our students, to give them advice and well wishes, and to help with the freshman sendoff. We received advice from parents and students concerning the freshman sendoff in the future as well as activities throughout the year.

HBCU Bowling Challenge

IMG 3257

On August 1, 2015, the chapter in conjunction with the Tennessee State University NAA Washington DC chapter held the HBCU Bowling challenge at the Bowl America in Alexandria, VA. For $20, each participant received two games of bowling and shoes with proceeds going to the two alumni associations. Unlike the previous bowling social held with Tennessee State, the FAMU alumni did not come up on top. The final score was TSU 116 and FAMU 105. It was a great time of fellowship and friendly competition between the local alumni associations of two great HBCUs.
